California Pay Transparency Act
presented by Jacquelyn Thorp, MSHR, SPHR, PHRca
Pay transparency is the ability for employees and job applicants to know the pay, or at least the scale or range of pay, of a specific position. When jobs are posted, applicants can request the pay scale for that position, and employers are now required to provide it to them. Although many companies do not have a complete understanding of their compensation structure, and how one job is paid relative to the others. However, when properly running a business, understanding the pay for each position is an extremely important HR function.
At the end of this presentation, you will be able to:
- explain the law regarding pay transparency
- understand your requirements as an employer, and
- utilize methods explained to determine pay scales in your organization.
