Description
During the hiring process, many corporations face potential legal pitfalls limiting, permitting and/or barring the recruitment or compensation and benefits strategy. Similarly, when restructuring, organizations will have to navigate their way through a number of hurdles in relation to employees. A panel of experts from Germany and the Nordic countries will guide participants through the key legal considerations surrounding recruitment, hiring and restructuring in Northern Europe while identifying effective human resource management strategies to help achieve corporate goals. The unique cultural aspects of employment and HR strategy in these countries will be a strong component of this program. The session will focus on key differences between the US and these countries. Discussions of the hiring process, the different types of employment, the ongoing relationship, and termination will be critical components. In addition, discussions of data protection and whistleblower issues, social media policies, compensation and benefits, non-competition clauses, trade secrets protections, and other business interest protections will be included. This program will also highlight the various EU directives related to employment law and how they apply to various countries.
