Description
International
executives tapped as SMEs and Hi-Pos are offered rotational assignments
and/or international expatriate opportunities and projects as part of
their professional growth, grooming, and succession planning. The high
risk area for the executive is transitioning from a domestic employee to
one living and working overseas. This presentation is an introduction
to understanding how to use Kurt Lewin’s theory into a coaching program.
Ms. Rossina Gil uses her years of cross-cultural
executive coaching, leadership development, and organization analysis
experience to guide the audience through a recognition of how even the
novice can achieve cross-cultural mastery
through relating a building-block approach. The process includes a few
critical thinking opportunities to engage an interactive audience, and a
couple of short videos to illustrate and drive home the point of how we
can apply relatable, everyday encounters towards foreign cultural
values. The audience will come away from the presentation with a solid
understanding of how strongly susceptible we are to association and
confirmation bias; and will learn how to “unfreeze” our cultural conditioning.
