Description
The "Ban the Box" movement has many employers questioning whether they should ask job applicants about criminal convictions at all. Several jurisdictions, including Los Angeles, now have strict "Ban the Box" laws, the EEOC has issued Enforcement Guidance on the Consideration of Arrest and Conviction Records in Employment Decisions, and the California Fair Employment and Housing Council has issued new regulations on Consideration of Criminal History in Employment Decisions. This presentation will demonstrate how an employer can lawfully consider an applicant's criminal history, and it will advocate that employers continue to do so in spite of these laws.
