Ernest James Wilson III is the founding director of theUSC AnnenbergCenter for Third Space Thinking (www.uscthirdspace.com). The Center is dedicated to conducting applied research, executive leadership development, community engagement and teaching a whole new generation of leaders and equipping them with the soft skills they need to thrive in a communication-at-the-center world. Dr. Wilsonserved two terms as dean of the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California. He also is a former member of The National Academies’ Computer Science and Telecommunications Board, and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He served on the board of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting from 2000 to 2010, the last year as chairman. His most recent research focuses on critical workforce competencies well as talent and skills development in the 21st Century. As a fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, he currently is writing a book on third Space Thinking and the soft skills required for success in today’s digitally disrupted world.Dr. Wilson earned a Ph.D. and M.A. in political science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.A. from Harvard College.
