ALAN J. CRIVARO
Alan J. Crivaro is a graduate of the University of Southern California ’77 BA and Creighton University’80 JD. Mr. Crivaro is an attorney in Newport Beach and focuses on criminal and juvenile litigation and appellate practice. He formerly served as an Orange County Senior Deputy Public Defender where he had appellate and trial counsel assignments during his 28 years of service.He has argued before the District Court of Appeal and the California Supreme Court. Among his many law related activities, he has been the president of the William P. Gray Legion Lex Inn of Court, the Constitutional Rights Foundation of Orange County (CRF-OC) and the Orange County Bar Foundation (OCBF). He continues to serve on the board of each of these organizations. He has served three terms on the board of the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA) and is a Scoville Award recipient which recognizes his legal contributions to the justice system. He is one of the founding members of the OCBA Criminal Law Section. Mr. Crivaro is an OCBF Society of Fellows Distinguished Award Recipient. He has twice received the Volunteer of the Year Award from CRF-OC and a Certificate of Appreciation from the California Assembly for chairing the Constitution Day Committee in Orange County. He is the coauthor of three chapters in California Criminal Law: Procedure and Practice,2017, published by CEB. He enjoys an AV Preeminent Rating and is a frequent guest lecturer on topics in criminal law, procedure and evidence.
