The California State Disability Insurance (SDI) program is a partial wage-replacement insurance plan for eligible California workers administered by the Employment Development Department (EDD). The SDI program is state-mandated and funded through employee payroll deductions. Workers covered by SDI have two benefits available to them: Disability Insurance (DI) and Paid Family Leave (PFL). This webinar will provide employers with a general overview of the program, employer’s responsibilities, and the claim filing process. The presentation is about one hour in total including time for Q&A.
Learning Objectives:
- Gain an understanding of when and how employees will utilize the benefits of the SDI program
- Understand the employer’s role and responsibilities in relationship to the SDI program
- Learn how the SDI program is working with those affected by COVID-19
