We’re all talking about marijuana these days. More than half of the states in our county now allow for either medical marijuana cards and/or legal recreational use. And the trend is increasing. On the flip side, the use and possession of marijuana remains a violation of federal law. Where does all of this leave employers who are trying to establish and enforce drug-free workplaces? And pot’s not our only issue, the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD) estimates that 70% of Americans that use illegal drugs are employed. That’s a scary statistic for HR departments.

Lauraine Bifulco
I have 30 years of HR experience and founded my Company, Vantaggio HR 25 years ago and am passionate about HR and training others. My company provides high level HR consulting to companies across the United States. My staff and I have a very deep and broad level of knowledge in HR, particularly in compliance, with a focus on complex California and multi-state operations. I’ve been a speaker for many years at both regional and national conferences, having been selecting for about 8 years running at the SHRM national conference where I consistently received very high scores for content and presentation.
