An ethical organization starts with an ethical leader who sets the tone at the top and fosters ethical behavior in all organizational systems and in all interrelationships, including with employees, suppliers, customers, the government, and the community at large. When facing a global public health crisis such as COVID-19, ethical considerations provide important guidelines to ensure workplace safety and flexibility, transparency, individual responsibility, and effective decision-making.

Known as “The Ethics Sage” to many with a reputation as an expert in ethics, Dr. Steven Mintz is a Professor Emeritus from Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo. His blog, Ethics Sage, was recognized as number 49 out of 100 top philosophy blogs and one of the top 30 blogs on Corporate Social Responsibility. With dozens of research papers published on ethics, Steve shares his insight into business ethics through his Workplace Ethics Advice blog and a special take on ethics in colleges and universities in a new blog, Higher Ed Ethics Watch. In addition, he received the Accounting Exemplar Award from the Public Interest Section of the American Accounting Association in 2015.
